Notes from the March Meeting

We had a nice turnout for the March meeting.
- Prez Joe presented the final club banner which looks pretty nice.
- We unveiled the new membership dues plan; everyone will be due in January; we'll pro-rate new memberships and renewals for partial years. We'll notify you (once we get membership details from our treasurer) of your dues for the rest of this year.
- Prof. Velie handed out a "dive quiz" that resulted in some valuable prizes for several well-educated divers.
- Terry Ostby reported on his experiences with the "DIR Essentials" class.
- Prof. Velie explained "Dalton's Diamond" for calculation of O2 mixtures.
- Our cave divers (Jim Campos, John Martin, and John Preston) described reels, spools, and line-laying techniques. It was an educational time and entertaining too: how often can you watch grown men tie string to chairs and follow the lines around with their eyes closed?
