Topics: Stories of recent local diving

April Meeting Notes

We had a fun time visiting, telling stories, and planning our summer diving. The club plans to be at Wazee on weekends when MDC Sports is holding classes. We'll provide water & snacks for the students and let them know there's a club that does local diving, and we'll of course go diving ourselves. Check out the calendar for dates. If you're interested of being the "club sponsor" for those weekends, let me know (rsouthwick AT charter.net) and I'll add your name to the calendar.

May Meeting Agenda

Club Logo design party! We'll bring crayons & paper and buy a pitcher of beer to get the creativity flowing. Check out the current entries in the March newsletter.

We'll also have stories from recent activities like the Intro to Trimix class.

Look at these swell prizes! - Joe V

Quarry Hill Park Cleanup

Joe Velie was the sole diver at the Earth Day park cleanup at Quarry Hill pond on April 21st. The perfect weather provided a nice evening of bubble-watching while Joe played in the muck, finding stuff like a canoe paddle and an orange safety cone. And he won valuable prizes! He even showed up in the local newspaper, the Post-Bulletin.

Trimix Class

Todd & Alex Carlson, Jim Campos, Joe Velie, and Roger Southwick are preparing for two trimix classes at Wazee this month. John Preston and John Martin (the Gas Man) have been helping us to prepare.

We'd especially like to thank John M for all his help and expertise, for trusting us with his expensive equipment, and for letting us bother his family with our use of his mixing facilities. Thanks John!

Bonne Terre Mine Trip

Roger Southwick is planning a trip to Bonne Terre Mine near St Louis Missouri for a 4-day weekend (Fri-Mon) June 10-13. Check out all the info here. You can probably still sign up with West End Diving, but time is running out!
